Apprenticeship Information

Apprenticeship training is the combination of classroom, theoretical learning with hands-on experience garnished while working with a certified tradesperson. Trades fall under two broad categories: Red Seal Trades and Non-Red Seal trades.

Basic Computer Skills

Many positions now require at least some basic competency level in computer use. Employment Services offers assistance to anyone needing basic computer training free of cost, including things like e-mail use, document editing and using a keyboard / mouse.

WHMIS

The Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) is Canada's national hazard communication standard. The key elements of the system are cautionary labelling of containers of WHMIS "controlled products", the provision of material safety data sheets (MSDSs) and worker education and training programs. Our office is happy to provide WHMIS certification free of cost.
